방콕여행 2일차. 왓포(Wat Pho) 둘러보기

2017년 11월 21일부터 26일까지 다녀온 방콕 여행기입니다.
왓포에서 가장 핫한 대형 와불상을 제일 먼저 봤으니 이제 왓포를 좀 둘러볼까 합니다. 왓포사원은 ‘왓 프라 체투폰 위몬 망클라람 랏차워람아하위한’ 을 줄여서 왓포라고 한다는데요. 왓포에서 ‘포’가 보리수라는 뜻이라서 보리수 사원이라고도 부릅니다. 방콕에서 제일 큰 규모의 왓포사원을 둘러보도록 하겠습니다.

 

왓포사원 둘러보기

왓포는 전반적으로 아주 화려합니다. 건물도 화려한데, 다 금칠이 되어 있습니다. 아주 화려하고 화려합니다. 

 

이렇게 건물마다 지붕마다 금칠이 되어 있습니다. 지난 태국여행 때도 그렇고 사원에 가면 금을 많이 볼 수 있는데요. 왓포에서는 특히 더 많은 것 같습니다. 사진에는 없는데, 실제로 금박 종이를 붙여 놓은 불상도 볼 수 있었습니다. 실제 금이라고 하더라고요. 그렇게 불상 등에 금박을 붙이면서 가족의 건강과 소망 등을 빈다고 합니다.

 

금박 문양도 그런데, 사진처럼 아주 작은 부분까지 세심하게 화려하게 신경 쓴 부분들이 많이 보입니다. 아니, 어떻게 저런 문양과 색상을 낼 수가 있는거죠? 참 대단한 것 같습니다. 왓포가 방콕에서 가장 큰 사원이기도 한데, 방콕이 건설되기 전인 16세기에 만들어 진 가장 오래된 사원이라고도 합니다. 제가 지금 보고 있는 것들이 그 당시 만들어진 것인지는 정확하게 모르겠지만 위대함이 느껴집니다.

 

불상이 일렬로 쭉 앉아 있는 곳도 있습니다. 검은색 불상은 아직 칠 전인가요..? 역시 아는만큼 보이는 것 같습니다. 우리 부부는 여기저기서 갖가지 포즈로 여러 사진들을 찍으면서 왓포를 둘러봤습니다.

 

와이프가 멋지게 포즈를 잡아 봅니다. 양쪽에 서 있는 동상들이 아주 멋집니다.

 

날씨는 엄청 좋았고요. 하늘은 엄청 좋습니다. 좀 덥기는 했지만, 왓포를 둘러보면서 위대함을 느끼면서 감탄하며 돌아보다 보니 어느새 시간이 훌쩍 지났습니다.

 

왓포에서는.. 아니, 태국 방콕 어디에서든 고양이들은 아주 편안하게 지내는 것 같습니다. 여기 또 기절하신 한 분이 계시네요. 와이프가 바로 코 앞에 앉아서 툭툭 건드려 봐도 꿈쩍도 않고 가셨습니다. 귀여워♥ 

아침 일찍 나와서 수상보트를 타고 왓아룬(Wat Arun), 왓포(Wat Pho) 까지 둘러본 우리는 올 때 수상보트 1회권을 구매한거 기억하시죠? 돌아갈 때는 택시를 타고 카오산로드로 돌아갈 계획입니다.

 

이게 그때 현장에서 택시를 타고 찍은 스샷인데요. 엄청막히네요. ㄲㄲㄲㄲㄲ 12Km 가는데, 47분이나 걸립니다.

 

지금 구글지도로 찍어보니 11분 걸리네요. 하. 엄청 막히는 시간에 (예를 들면 퇴근시간?) 카오산로드로 이동했나 봅니다. 우린 다시 카오산로드로 갑니다!
